ABOUT THE COLLEGE
College Education acts as the key to a successful future of individuals who are serious with it, these thoughts made Sri L.N.Gupta, I.A.S. the then Principal Secretary to Education, Govt. of AP to think about section of students who are interested in pursuing higher education, but due to their pathetic financial position their dream vanishes, so on behalf of the Agarwal Siksha Samiti he requested the then Vice Chancellor Dr.D.S.Reddy to grant affiliationfor starting proposed Evening Science College which was based on a Unique Concept “Learn While Earn”
Academic year 1964-65 was remarkable in the history of education in India when the first ever Agarwal evening (night) college with PUC and B.Sc Courses was started in heart of old city, catering to the needs of downtrodden and socially marginalized people under the visionary Late Sri. B. Kishanlal the then first correspondent of this College.
Commerce education played an important role in transforming the economic environment of the country and management of Agarwal Siksha Samithi acted promptly and started B.Com Course in the year 1971-72.
The Management resolved during Governing council meeting that the Agarwal Evening college of Science & Commerce will be renamed as L.N.Gupta Evening College of Science & Commerce with effect from 01.04.1981(named after the founder). The resolution was approved by the Govt. & Osmania University.
This unique college provides a financial security to the students with “Learn While Earn Mission” and helps a student to build a remarkable personality, our students earn their bread in day time and pursue graduation in night time.
In today competitive world we know very well that currently college education has become the minimum requirement in securing a job in various companies and I am contented that students acquire various skills and graduation from this college to stand tall in the job market.
College alumni have hundreds and hundreds of them who reached peaks in their field of working. College have Produced many successful Industrialists, flourishing Businessmen, proficient Doctors, Philanthropists, Efficient Teachers, University Professors, chartered accountants, eminent scientists, noted politicians and many more. It can be affirmed that there may be families of many such eminent persons whose three generations have acquired the light of learning from this college. It is not possible to mention all the names, but college salutes every person who realized their dreams with great dedication and passion.
