Physics department was started right from the inception of the college in1954. With the introduction of 3 year degree course in 1957, physics was offered as optional subject along with Mathematics and Chemistry. Sri M.V Chalapathi Rao was the first head of the Department. The successive heads of the department who served the institution were Sri k. Chandra Reddy, Sri K Gopala Krishna Murthy,Sri.Shiva Kumar and the present incumbent Sri P. KARTHIK.

OBJECTIVES: 1. To give detailed knowledge and understanding general fundamental aspects of matter, energy and events occurring in nature. 2. To inculcate the scientific temper and to develop an analytical approach among the students. 3. To produce Science graduates who will contribute to the new innovations in the subject.
